18k gold consists of 18 parts pure gold out of 24, with the remaining 6 parts made up of other metals. On the other hand, 9k gold consists of 9 parts pure gold out of 24, with the remaining 15 parts being other metals. (In countries like England, 9k gold is widely used in jewelry.)

By using less pure gold in the pieces, the cost is significantly lower compared to if they were made of 18k gold. Nevertheless, they are still made of noble materials that will last a lifetime, unlike gold-plated items that deteriorate over time.
